My friend,
It’s a joy to meet you in April and share with you the promise for this new month from Matthew 5:14,
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”
Yes! God is going to keep us as such a town. He has already built us upon a hill, upon a high place, that’s His plan for us and that’s His destiny for us so that we will shine our light bright from on top of the hill and the world will see it. We are not meant to be hidden. We are the light of the world. God wants to make us shine for His glory and to fulfill His purpose through us for this world and in the process our light has to shine. We can’t be hidden, We should not be hidden.
Things might come to hide us and people might come to discourage us or our voice might not be heard in your friends circle or in our home or workplace, with nobody willing to hear our thoughts, our ideas, or our plans. And sometimes we ourselves might be putting us down, hiding our talents saying ‘I can only go this far saying I am not going to the stage, I am not going to take the project, I am going to hide’ and we might be feeling so shy and keeping ourselves hidden. But God wants to bring us out to make our light that He has given us to shine.
‘Moses tried to hide his light. He said, Lord , let me go and take care of the sheep. When God met him in a burning bush, magnificently and said go in front of the Egyptian king and talk and release my people who are slaves. Moses said let me continue to be a shepherd in this desert Lord, I am a stammerer, I can’t speak to anybody, you have chosen the wrong person. He tried to escape and hide himself. But He didn’t allow him, God pushed him and said go with my power and My Words, you have to go. Signs and wonders and miracles happened through him. God gave him faith and pushed him.’
‘When I was just four years old God pushed me also. Through my father, he was saying you have to record a song called a ‘little drummer boy’. It was very hard to do at the age of 4. And there was no air-conditioning in the hall, the lights were so strong at that time and I was sweating. I was so irritated and I didn’t want to do that video. But my father pushed me and said you have to do it. My friends, that God given opportunity pushed me to a great light in this world. It brought me into the limelight on national television on Christmas day for the whole nation to watch. Even today people talk about this song saying that it inspired their children.’
Yes! Let your light shine. Don’t hide it. God’s great purpose needs to be accomplished through you in this world. If not for you, do it for God. He is depending on you.
Sometimes the ‘Fear’ inside us might hold us back. Close your eyes and lose your sight of this world, and start seeing what God has for you, start believing that God has something great for you, you will not be affected by the fear of this world.
May the Lord give you His grace and strength to overcome your fears and make you walk in confidence to the purpose which He has called you and make you a town built on a hill that cannot be hidden.
God Bless You!
With much prayers,
Samuel Dhinakaran
